Tonight is the first ever iHeartRadio Music Awards and we’ve got the full run-down on what you should expect to see this evening. Check it out.
1. Your Favorite Pop, R&B, and Rock Artists Will be Featured on the Show Tonight
NBC and Clear Channel have teamed up to create the first iHeartRadio Music Awards, televised tonight at 8 p.m. EST on NBC from Los Angeles’ Shrine Auditorium. NBC gives some details on the mission of the show, what it hopes to deliver, and why it has been created.
By using hashtags to cast more than 13.2 million votes on Facebook and Twitter, music fans turned their favorite artists and songs into iHeartRadio Music Awards’ finalists. Announced last month, the three-hour iHeartRadio Music Awards will recognize the most popular artists and music from the past 12 months as determined by iHeartRadio listeners.

There are so many performers who are going to be at the iHeartRadio Music Awards that it’s almost hard to keep up. Below find the list of all the stars who are supposed to be performing tonight:

From what we know, Shakira will definitely be performing “Empire” and Pitbull will be performing “Wild Wild Love” with girl group GRL. Who are you most looking forward to seeing?
3. Michael Jackson’s New Single Will be Debuted
Tonight will be the first time that viewers will be able to hear Michael Jackson’s music from upcoming album “Xscape.” The song “Love Never Felt So Good” will debut at the awards and there is supposed to be a special guest and performance to go along with it. Many believe Usher will be performing and some speculate that Justin Timberlake will be performing … We will just have to wait and see.

Each voting category initially featured 10 nominees based on results from the iHeartRadio Chart, which includes listener feedback and performance data according to airplay; digital streaming data from the iHeartRadio platform, including “thumbs up” and custom station creations; and music sales, social interactions and online video data and tags from BigChampagne and Shazam. During the last four weeks, listeners cast their votes to narrow down these nominees to their top five favorites in each category, garnering more than 2.2 billion social impressions.
